BAC2ONE is a week long, Christian based art camp held at Bethel Church in Princeton. To this weeklong camp, we invite children who are entering 2nd grade through entering 8thgrade to join us in exploring different areas of art. In the past, we have offered a variety of classes such as drama, dance, drawing, creative writing, videography, woodworking, photography, mosaics, pizza pizazz, jewelry design, sewing, journalism, car design, paper art, fishing lures, chalk art, pen & ink, pottery, sign language, imprinting, boomwhackers, water color, calligraphy, scrap-booking, stomp, pastry making, cake decorating, tie dye, and balloon sculpture and more! Fun and exploration are important aspects of BAC2ONE; however, our goal is to connect campers to their Creator. We believe that God created us in His own image and has given each of us a creative gift. We believe that it is our responsibility to find, nurture, and develop our gifts in order to use them in service to our Creator and our communities. We believe that connecting kids to their Creator through their creative talents lets them see that God longs to be a part of their everyday lives.
This year, BAC2ONE runs from July 26 – July 30. The campers attend a 1.5 hour core class every morning, as well as participate in Focus time and small groups. During the afternoons of Monday through Thursday, the campers choose two to four one hour elective classes.
On Friday, we excuse at noon so that the BAC2ONE team can prepare for the art show on Friday evening. Throughout the building, we display all of our campers creative projects. A class presentation of dance, drama, music, stomp, boomwhackers, and more completes the art show. Last week over 500 people attended the Friday evening event.
Each year, BAC2ONE follows a theme. Past themes include: Discover the treasure, Endless possibilites, Made by heart, and Be Rooted. BAC2ONE 2010 theme is “Wonder.” We plan to explore the wonder of creation including space, earth, the animal world, and the human body. We will also wonder about what we’ll look like when we grow up, what we might do, and the plans God has for us. We will wonder at the amazing variety in creation and in each other all while exploring numerous artistic venues.
Intrigued? Interested in hearing more? We’re looking for Christian artists who desire to share their talents with children. We’re looking for young people and adults who are passionate about forming relationships with children and encouraging them to develop a relationship with their Creator as small group leaders. We’re looking for able-bodied people who would be willing to work as helpers in classrooms or on the kitchen crew. 150+ campers have participated in recent years, with another 25-30 children at “Mini-BAC” which our BAC2ONE team members’ children who are not old enough to participate in BAC2ONE attend. We need volunteers! Prayerfully consider joining us this summer in this exciting ministry. Please contact us at: Bethel Church – 763-389-5715 – bethelprinceton.com.
